Pirate Bay being blocked results?

It has been a while that the site Pirate Bay has been blocked. Off course whizz kids can come up with several solutions to avoid this but that aside. Today it has been announced that although the site has been blocked, the downloading has not really decreased. The only decrease is seen in music downloads.

What is next is what I wonder. Make it illegal to smoke or drink, because that is not healthy? Make it illegal to google weed, because it is forbidden in your country? Don't you think it should be a humans own choice to risk it, to do something illegal and face the fact that they might be caught? The organisation that controls the downloading issues is so powerfull they can force webproviders to block a website, in the Netherlands, really? The country where Weed is a grey arrea, it can be bought but it can not be grown. In the Netherlands where hookers are a profession.. It seems impossible to me that this organisation has this power, I wonder what is next!?!

Oktoberfest, Aarle Rixtel

Next week the time has come! Finally Oktoberfest in Aarle Rixtel. It is the first time this village organises this party but what I hear it sounds very promising. Tickets were sold out but there are always cancellations, so you might be lucky!

There are several artists like: "de Sillentaler Spassmacher Band" and "de Klokkendorper" . There are off course games: THE BEER GAMES....Sounds promising doesn't it? Will keep you posted!

X party / Facebook party throughout Europe

Just wanted to let people know..

There actually is nothing wrong with organising a party through something like Facebook. There is nothing wrong with people gathering with the intention to have a party.
It is wrong however for people to gather and have the intention to make a fuss, destroy things or treaten people.

Why is it so that this small group of people manage to destroy such parties? Because of these group there will be a ban on these party's, taking it from good intentioned party people.

Is there anything we could do about it?

There are signs the X-party trend is catching on and there are several party's organised throughout europe. Hope they will leave the trouble makers home and have a great party!

Project X Facebook party's all over The Netherlands

After the incident in Haren, today there were several virals to come to other project X party's. Since Haren did not really end like a party, police were already on the several sites to stop people trying to get to the mentioned locations.

Schiedam, Alkmaar en several other cities and towns were mentioned but the police had taken action and was present. Several people got arrested for some minor things but most important there were no incidents.

X Party Haren / Facebook party

It was loud and aggresive.
This birthday party is one Haren wil never forget! About 30 people got wounded and the whole village got shook up. Villagers have started cleaning up the mess and try to understand what happened.

Police asks people to send in their material, photo's, video's to try to catch the people that misbehaved!

Facebook party Project X in Haren, Netherlands smashed village

A girl from the lovely village Haren in the Netherlands wanted to organise a nice birthday party. She posted an invitation on her Facebook page, not realising she made it a public invitation. Thursday evening on radioshows they were promoting her party. Stating it was a guiness book of records attempt of being the biggest party organised through facebook.

Result: Today there were thousands of people in Haren to witness and be part of this party. Later in the evening things were getting hostile and police came. Charges were made by the police. Houses and garages of the village are looted and damaged.

Wonder how this will end, as I write police is still in Haren sorting things out!

Volunteering in a kids club

A few weeks ago I signed up as a volunteer at a kids club. The kids come together once a week and spend some creative hours. Although I realised that the youth had changed over time, it has become more clear since I joined.

It is a known fact that more and more parents work and more and more kids spend their time in a daycare. Maybe this might be the reason why kids have changed? When we were young kids came home from school and found their mother at home with a cup of tea and they would tell her about school. Now kids go to daycare, find their mum tired at home cooking dinner. After dinner the kids need to go to soccer, hockey, ballet or whatever club and they do not even talk to their parents anymore.

Well, these kids are gone wild. They are in fact sweet kids and with a little attention they blossom and are adorable but at first sight they seem to be mad. My goal is to give these kids some attention and help them developing into wonderfull people. What are you doing to help your neighbours?

CD presentation,financial,spend!!

Tomorrow I will be attending a presentation of a new album. Since I am not famous or press, I have never been to one. Just wondering what it will be like...

Started a new business in crafting and hoping it will be succesful, I will add a site link soon, for you to check it out and ORDER! LOL, just kidding. I am doing it for fun and hope to make a nice buck on the side but counting on nothing and hoping for a booming business.

It is idle to think it will be a hit, since people are holding their wallet with two hands, tight as can be. Not spending on fun stuff just the things they cannot do without.

Do they not realise that this just makes the financial situation worse? Spending money makes the world go round. Spending money boosts the economy. SO..for all you rich folk out there..spend your money! Get our world out of this financial depth and help those who need it...

The little mermaid, musical

Today I went to the musical The little mermaid. It is magnificent to see what skills those actors have. Singing, dancing, tapdancing, puppetmastery, it is amazing. The musical is about the mermaid story made by Disney. It tells the story of a little mermaid wishing to become human to meet her dreamguy. A bad aunt that wants nothing more then total (water) world domination and a father trying to protect the little mermaid.

It was beautiful, great songs. It was a musical with just enough songs and humour.

My verdict: Pass! ******

Why would anyone 'google' me? Shivvers...

An advantage of google ads is the stats page. It shows your where your public is from and some keywords used.Today I checked it and there was a search for my used name.. This makes me feel creeped Out! Why. Would anybody google a name?

We love the 90's, where oldskool is hot!

Last saturday was the party "We love the '90's". And it was amazing! Although I kind of expected somewhat older people, I still was one of the "oldies". The Vengaboys still had not changed anything about their act and to be honest, do we really need to see 40 year old girls with naked bellies in some weird costume? Lol, they were actually entertaining. DJ Paul Elstak was amazing as he ever was. I saw him often performing when I was a teen and well he just really rocked my world again!

The big "Surprise" act was Ice MC. After a whole day of stumping music, this was kind of a different story. The reggae beats hit the dancefloor and people just went home.

The food and beverage stands were organised a lot better than last year and people were satisfied with their day back in the '90's!

Vintage music, rare items

I found this great site. It is still being set up but I am loving it. It sells vintage music. I really have a soft spot for old music and especially tapes and vinyl. So I explored it..

I emailed the site owner and they just started up, they have a huge collection of Dutch, German and English artists and Dutch, German and French prints of the albums. They have started with putting on cassette's but they will also add a huge amount of vinyl in time. They told me it took time to get all photographed and are working hard to get it all online. While they are setting up, buyers can place orders using the contactform and arrangements can be made.

They also have some unique albums and cassette's. For example today they added an old set of two cassettes of the beach boys "The Beach boys story Vol.1 & 2"with a misprint on the cover of vol.2.

An old cassette of "The Rolling stones" and several others. It is my advise to check it out and check back regularly since new items are still added ever day.

Vintage music get it here!

Are you a good neigbour?

My neighbours are having a party. I hear them talking and I hear the music. Do I complain? No!

In my opinion it is okay to have a party every once and a while. They are good people and I like them to have fun! Too many people these days complain about everything. When the neighbour walks too loud, talks too loud or just sneezes..

Would you like to party every now and then? Then let them and enjoy a year full off hello's and goodbye's instead off angry faces and grunts.

Hope I or facebook will fix it soon. Anyone else have this problem?

Heat, fainting and festivals

Heat, 40 degrees celcius appeared on the thermometer today. Everywhere it is warm and people are complaining. Is that a Dutch thing to do? It really annoys me. When in summer it rained and it was 15 degrees they were complaining, now it is hot and they are complaining it is too hot... come on.

Festival season has started and today was Decibel, a large festival in the south of the Netherlands. With this heat, drinking and dancing on a festival outside is asking for problems, so there was free water handed out. People in the soccer stadiums were fainting, and benches were half empty..

Wonder what this weather will bring ;)

Saturday, August 18, 2012

36 degrees celcius

You could guess it by now.. complaints all over ;)

Loving every degree of it!

Coming back later..

Beer and whiskey...don't..

So the title explains the party... lets go on.... ;)

Day-to day life has taken over, kids go to school, people go to work. And voila here comes the sun. Next week it will be about 30 degrees celcius while the kids got a rainy summer in their holiday!

It is almost time for the next party "We love the 90's!" With a lot of idols from the '90's! I am looking forward to that one, must admit! artists:Charly Lownoise & Mental Theo,, Paul Elstak,, Vengaboys,, E-Rotic (Max dont have sex..),, Dune,, Flamman & Abraxas,, Twenty 4 Seven,,DJ Flo,, Party Animals,.

Vacation, Olympics and weather

Vacation is almost over here, most people have gone to work already and the kids will be going to school next week. Normal life begins and vacation end. The vacation weather, well as mentioned before was not good at all. I feel sorry for the kids whose parents lost their job and could not go on vacation. Here I am complaining about me wanting to go on another holiday, while there are so many that did not go at all. Many people are jobless and could not go on holiday. So I will try to stop complaining about that but please remember that while I am complaining, I still feel for those families!

The olympics are going rather well for the Dutch if I may say so.. Epke Zonderland, the hockeyteams, Ranomi, and well those I forgot!

I am proud we are still in the top of earning medals at the olympics, especially considering our size, I mean be honest The Netherlands is kind of petit ;)

Art, crafts, godess or not?

I have this beautiful statue, which I am so curious about. I have been googling for hours to see where it is made, even what it is made of and cannot find it. I am usually like sherlock Holmes and am able to find what I need within a short amount of time but this artwork is a big question for me.

Can anyone help me?

On the top belongs a platform with (chinese?) dragons engraved. Do not know what it is a pillao put a plant on?

Any help is welcome!

Olympics 2012 - gold rain?

The olympics 2012 are a bit of a dissapointment for the Dutch. So far it has not been raining gold medals, or even medals.. We have some but not as hoped for. Certainly it is not over yet and we still hope for some gold, maybe miss Ranomi Kromowidjojo will have a great swim, she is in topcondition and showed us she is very good. Hope she will make it count and add another medal, hopefully GOLD!!

Just minutes away and we will know!!

Sponsor wanted - need holiday

Lol, okay not really an actual real post but still..

*************************************
Hello, I am looking for a sponsor. Someone with too much money, who wants to do good with it. Woman looking for a holiday needs some cash to go. Whilst summer in her country is really dissapointing, she really needs a break.
*************************************

Probably half of our country feels this way. Most do not go on holiday since economics are very unreliable, jobs are dissapearing as we speak and well holday prices have gone through the roof! I need to get a job too and well it does not come easy, a few years ago I would have found one immediately but in these times....

Evidently the add could also say "Woman looking for a job, love writing and is a great team player ;)

Weatherforecasts

What site is a good weatherforecaster?

Been wondering this because the site I am using is not doing too well lately. Off course I would like site that only predicts sun but realising this probably is impossible,I would like a site that is accurate.

I know weather can be unpredictable but it must be possible to predict a sunny day?
Why this blog? I was thinking of getting out the pool this weekend, didn't because the weather predicted was not good.Today I realise I should have put the pool out because it is beautifull!
Well going to check out other sites just to be safe!

Nature and his beautiful faces

We usually take it all for granted..

Just wanted to point out how great nature is and how beautiful. Just take a look around you and see what it has to offer.

Even in the car you can see.

appreciate it and cherish it, enjoy these fine things and realise how lucky you actually are!

Olympics 2012, Recession?

So, just watched the opening ceremony of the Olympic games and well it was amazing..It just made me think about it. All of europe seems to be struggling economy/money wise and there in the UK were millions spend on an opening ceremony that took a few hours. Really, was that wise? Is it not better to be a bit more sober in these times?

I must admit it was a great opening but considering the current economic crisis we are in, was it all necessary?

Just had to share this. Admitting I will be watching the games, just something to think about..

Bali, indonesia, go there!

A couple of years ago I went on vacation to Bali. My first trip outside of europe. I went with a friend for three weeks. It was great! Denpasar, an abandoned amusementpark, the people, hospitality, friends, going out, Sanur, Kuta. It was amazing. The faith, how the people live, how friendly they are... It was a trip I will never ever forget. Until today I wish I could go back. I had a very bad experience there with some european guy that kind of not wanted to let us go home. We were stranded in the middle of the night in another town. There were some balinees kids shooting pool and they tried to call us a cab, the cabs were not open anymore. They brought us to the hotel on their scooters.. We were so greatfull!! This is what I call hospitality. In one day the worst and best experience!

Bali, one island worth visiting, if you can, do!

Raining for weeks, heat and complaints

Summer in the Netherlands was crappy until a few days ago. First it was raining for days on end, then all of a sudden the heath is unbelievable, 30 degrees celcius. There was no slowly building up the temperature, no just rain - extreme heat.

So it is unevitable people start complaining. I guess Dutch are complainers (not all) but in general we like to complain. "It rains too much!", "It is too warm"", "It is too expensive..";)

Now people are complaing about the weather AGAIN. First too much rain, now too much sun. People what do you want. It is summer, it is supposed to be hot, or at least warm! Start enjoying!

Roads to the beaches are full of traffic, icecream sold out, kiddypools are all sold out. Nobody expected this heat to come and voila there it is! Well to be joining in the majority "I am sorry it is not summer all year long!", here is my complaint. Enjoy your summer people!

Saarburg, Germany

Saarburg is a beautiful little town in Germany. In the are here it is known for a big campingsite (The Warsberg) that is situated there.

Many Dutch have spend their childhood vacations there and still have fond memories about it. I must admit for children it is great, there is no need to leave the campingsite at all. There is a swimmingpool, tenniscourt, playingfields, restaurant and snackbar. Pretty much all they need. For teens however it is another story, and to be honest in Saarburg itself is not much going on for these teens. There is a poolhall and the sites are great but it might get boring after a few days!

So if you are planning your holiday, with kids or adults it is a great town to check out, teens better look some more!

Flying ants, screams and laughter!

Yesterday and today were particularly warm here. All of a sudden there was some commotion at the several ants homes in the garden. Large ants and small ants were fighting and there was panic!

The newlyborn ants that are fertile grow wings in a certain perio and fly out to go create a new colony. They all fly out in mass an at the same time. This is such a natural miracle, how do they know that the day and hour has come they will all go?!? Nature is full of these miracles. This little miracle also caused some uproar in the neighbourhood since there were ants flying everywhere and killingsprees began.

People had begun firing up the barbeque since it has been such bad weather, they couldnt wait and there they were the invasion of the ants. Screams of girls and mothers, feet stepping on the ground and fathers laughing. It was one great day for the neighbours and I enjoyed it! Hopefully there were some ants able to escape!

Cardboard David Hasselhoffs, a girls biggest dream?

Approximately 550 cardboard David Hasselhoffs have been stolen in the last couple of weeks. The board of the former baywatch actor seem to be irresistable for the public. The picture-boards are situated at numerous of Cumberland Farms stores in New England and Florida to promote icecoffee.

Today only 20 cardboard pictures are left, Cumberland states they are flattered and advise the people owning a Hasselhoff to protect them well!

Terrorists active in the Netherlands?!? Attack on townhall.

Waalre, an idealic town in the south of Netherlands. Known for the richer people that live there. An attack was done on the townhall of this town. Two cars pierced into the building while burning and destroyed the town hall. Police have a number of investigators looking into the matter. It is uncertain who did it, it is certain that it was a planned action since it is no coincidence two cars ram into a building at the same time.

The netherlands is shocked and are desperate to find out who did this!

Dissability in the Netherlands only for high earners

When you become ill/dissabled you can apply for dissability. Which is called WIA.

In general it is like this.
After two years of being sick you have to be checked by a insurance doctor and when he / she thinks you have possibilities to work you have an appointment with a job expert who decides how much dissability you get.

Why this story? Because it has nothing to do with your ability to work it has everything to do with your income.

The law states it looks at your possibility to work but it does not. It looks at the percentage income you would loose considering your dissability.

Two people with exactly the same problems can have two seperate decisions in the end. If one earns a topincome and the other average. The expert will say they could for example still work in the factory.

The topincome man will lose 80% income and the average man will lose 25%. They are both able to work in the same factory but due to his high income on his former job the topincome man will have a dissability of 80-100% while the average income guy has less than 25% loss of income and to have any dissability it should be at least 35%.

This law is invented to get you to work what you are able to while in fact the topincomes have a big chance to get dissability while mr. Average gets nothing.

This is really bothering me,how to be heard?

youtube artist commits suicide

yesterday a famous you tube artist (at least in the Netherlands) commited suicide. He posted his farewell letter on Facebook and caught a train. The fans he has here in Holland are shocked. There really was no sign for them that he has been playing eith this thought. Although now they are critically reviewing his last uploads and see signs. It is a loss for the youtube channel and I hope he has found peace!

This however makes me think about his family. Posting your farewell letter on Facebook? Humanity is changing. We were brought up in another way, not that I am old but people 5 years younger just seem to have had another life. We had computerclass once a week 15 minutes and now there are digital blackboards. We only had overhead projectors! I guess I am just afraid of what the future will bring with all these digi kids that grow up.

Hopefully Jermaine's family will find peace with the desicion he made.

Lets have summer people!

We are ready and although the sun is peeping through the clouds it is raining..
Vacation began for most people. The weather is not really good, what happens? People get a lastminute vacation and prices are through the roof! Hoping it will get better soon...

My flowers are ready to blossom. After the vacation in Italy I am not satisfied,
it is silly maybe but I love vacation abroad!
So now I am looking for a short break close to home, maybe Germany? Belgium? It hit me that is rather expensive and I might as well go to Italy for the same price ;)

Weather and chillex

The weather here slowly is reaching summer.. although upcoming week it will be less warm it still is better than all the rain.. The last days the temperature reached temperatures above 25 degrees celcius and it was needed. The plants and flowers just need a bit more sun and less rain now and then.

The strawberry plants which I showed in an earlier post have barely survived and one died. They need more sun and so do I! Hope they will hold on just a bit longer and have some strawberries too in a while!

Saturday was warm and I chillexed a bit with a cola with beer.. and well Loved it!

Hope you had a wonderfull weekend!

Italy lost,Spain european champion.

Off course I wanted Italy to win!Judging on the play this evening I just have to admit that Spain was stronger..

Italy, better luck next time but please remember you have played an excellent tournament!!!

part2 - EUFA EURO 2012 Ukraine

One thing that immediately became evident is that the route to the fan squares was set out. The streets among the route were cleened up so to say. This pictures might say it all. It is a house (I guess) which is packed in fabric. When you have a quick look it does not show but it is a house packed in a fabric with a nice house on it.

The next photo was just a nice sight. It immediately reminded me of Full House and it almost seems like the picture was taken in San Fransisco.
When we arrived at the orange fan (freedom square) square it was busy already. And we did not know where to look.
At the orange square a large podium was set up, where several famous Dutch performed among which was Armin Van Buuren, the world famous DJ!

As said there was so much to see and even passing by. These people were entertaining the crowds.

Aquarium Genova(Genoa), Italy

We went to the aquarium in Genova. The weather predicted for our vacationadres was bad so we decided to visit the aquarium. The aquarium was said to be the biggest in Europe so it was very interesting to take a look.

Genova is rather a big city compared to our vacationvillage which has one supermarket. Genova is a big town. Which shows on this picture.

The aquarium is situated in a harbour area. The harbour is a site itself. Many beautiful ships are to be looked at. It is not easy to find however just follow the signs for centre/port antico and the signs for the aquarium will show up eventually.

The aquarium costs 19 euro and for kids to 3 years it is free. Let's put it this way it is well worth it!
Once in the aquarium, it really was a sight! There are beautiful big tanks for the creatures to live in. There are dolphins, different kind of sharks, all kinds of fish, from piranha to clownfish and there is a tank to pet fish. The route is well put together and there is staff everywhere to help you when you have questions. A big plus is that they all speak english very well, which is rare.

When you are finished in the aquarium, take a look around. Genoa is a beautiful old city. The harbour alone can keep you occupied for hours!

Italy weather a dissapointment...

Well the weather here is crummy, to say the least. On facebook I see my dutch friends at pools in the sun while here the rain is pouring. Although the weather is not good, the Italian vibe is there. I still love it here, the people, the food.

It is funny to see that Italians are not really rain people. The store have their merchandise outside and when it rains the store inside is so full you cannot get in. Carwashes are outside, we have them in a garage but here it is all outside. Restaurants same story!

Snooki

Here in Italy there are several Snooki. And Gianni lookalikes but there have been sightings of a couple that could be their twins. I will try to get a picture as soon as possible...

National holiday in Italy

Today it is a national holiday in Italy and everywhere italian flags are hung and festivities are held. The weather here is pretty bad. All day showers, so I feel bad for the people who want to go to the festivities which are mostly outside. Allthough the weather is bad, the sights it brings are great!

Till so far, will return soon!

Formula 1 my painting

This painting (1x1meters) I made a few years back and with the season in full throttle I thought I would share it!  Watching F1 gives me the ultimate sunday feeling. Guess it is because my father used to watch it on sunday.

When I am in Italy the GP of Monaco is held that weekend. Just the thought of it being an hour away makes me excited about it. It is just sad that the tickets are expensive and well Monaco is a difficult city to get into on a normal day let alone during GP. I probably will go there a few days later to see the fresh painted striping and smell the rubber.

Facebook - Timeline acting weird..

Maybe more people have noticed? Just now I found out that the timeline on Facebook is all scr*** up. There are numbers and everything is placed under one and another. Not two columns just one page. Photo's are too big... Hmmm, looks really weird, hoping they will fix this issue soon!

Strawberry..sweetie

I just love strawberries and lucky for me that is one of the things that we can grow in our climate. These strawberries are still in their basket waiting for a better day. Waiting for the continuous showers to stop and for the sun to show her bright yellow face.
It is about time she does show up since there are numerous of strawberries waiting for a larger spot!

So showers stop and sun please come!

If there is one thing I cannot do without it is coffee. In Holland it is available anywhere and I am glad for that. Just plain coffee, sometimes espresso or capuccino but usually they only have plain coffee which is fine.

The first time in Italy a whole new world opened up.. latte machiato.. Now that is a sweet good coffee! Can't wait!

Holiday approaching fast

My holiday is approaching fast and well I have this issue.. When it is just weeks away I just cannot stop checking the weather. I love the sun and the reason why I am going to the south of europe is for the weather. Now last days I checked the weather in the flower riviera and well, it is not that good! Last year I went to Garda lake (also Italy) in May and it was 3o degrees celcius, this was extreme for the time of year but it was warm. Now it should be about 25 degrees in italy around the end of May but it is not looking like it is going to be.

I really hope it will turn around, still have some time. Well if it is not that warm, count on some blogs..

Wondering, are there people that do not like warm weather?

day of freedom - clothes for free

today we celebrated the freeing of our country from the Germans in the second world war. This usually means some ceremonies and a whole lot of party. The most remarkable bit was that the german minister was present at the ceremony with the queen. This has not ever occured before!

Today I also received my shipment of clothes! I had won a contest (see earlier post) and today I received a part of the clothes I ordered. I must say clothes for free just seem to be fitting great!

Short message, got to sleep, keeping you posted...
