Summer is here, was here and gone... back?

Summer had arrived a few weeks ago but left as swift as it came. Today it was all gloomy and on the weather forecast the announced fridy wll be the hottest day of this year...hmmm Changing climate?

I had a vacation in Turkey and I loved it. No work just play so to speak. All inclusive, lay on my ass all day and enjoy the sun, weather and relaxation. Two weeks of total chilling just added two pounds to my weight so tthat was nice to see, I expected worse. So no diet, those pounds will leave as I go.

I am busy fixing up my house, as a do-it-myself-woman that takes work but the results are magnificant. While fixing it up I am selling junk on the internet and that is working out great too..

Hmm no complaining? No! No complaining for now! Things are looking up for a change!

Maybe the holiday blurred my view a bit but time will tell!

Enjoy your vacation and remember live a little or a lot!

Vacation, Olympics and weather

Vacation is almost over here, most people have gone to work already and the kids will be going to school next week. Normal life begins and vacation end. The vacation weather, well as mentioned before was not good at all. I feel sorry for the kids whose parents lost their job and could not go on vacation. Here I am complaining about me wanting to go on another holiday, while there are so many that did not go at all. Many people are jobless and could not go on holiday. So I will try to stop complaining about that but please remember that while I am complaining, I still feel for those families!

The olympics are going rather well for the Dutch if I may say so.. Epke Zonderland, the hockeyteams, Ranomi, and well those I forgot!

I am proud we are still in the top of earning medals at the olympics, especially considering our size, I mean be honest The Netherlands is kind of petit ;)

Saarburg, Germany

Saarburg is a beautiful little town in Germany. In the are here it is known for a big campingsite (The Warsberg) that is situated there.

Many Dutch have spend their childhood vacations there and still have fond memories about it. I must admit for children it is great, there is no need to leave the campingsite at all. There is a swimmingpool, tenniscourt, playingfields, restaurant and snackbar. Pretty much all they need. For teens however it is another story, and to be honest in Saarburg itself is not much going on for these teens. There is a poolhall and the sites are great but it might get boring after a few days!

So if you are planning your holiday, with kids or adults it is a great town to check out, teens better look some more!

Lets have summer people!

We are ready and although the sun is peeping through the clouds it is raining..
Vacation began for most people. The weather is not really good, what happens? People get a lastminute vacation and prices are through the roof! Hoping it will get better soon...

My flowers are ready to blossom. After the vacation in Italy I am not satisfied,
it is silly maybe but I love vacation abroad!
So now I am looking for a short break close to home, maybe Germany? Belgium? It hit me that is rather expensive and I might as well go to Italy for the same price ;)

Vacation Booked! Italy here we come..

Yes, I finally found my vacation and well... Nothing new this year. I am going to Piètra Ligure, a place in Italy in the Flowerrivièra. It is not a big town but well I like it a lot. In the neighbourhood are lots of things to do and big cities are all around. Nothing planned yet but it will get shape in the next months. May is when I go so I still have some time..

People, enjoy your saturday. Have fun at home or while going out! I know I will! Keeping you posted!

Vacation, whaaa

I am really longing for a vacation and I actually cannot wait. Still I have not found anything that really got me excited, which means look further for me! Tomorrow Carnaval begins in the south of Holland and everybody is excited. However we are all excited tomorrow, by monday the friendly, festive atmosphere usually turns into drunk, agressive behaviour. So I will definately go out but not after sunday.

Sunday there is a parade and the youth will get on carts and drive through town. The parade starts at 13.11 and that is the time they will start drinking too, you can imagine, sunday is usually not the busiest of days in the pubs since most are hammered at 16.00.

A few years back an accident occured and a young boy fell of the cart and died. Since then it is forbidden to use any alcohol during the parade. However forbidden the participants are very clever and have several ways to still use alcohol. It is said some of them even got a producer of lemonade to put beer in lemonade cans....

Please people, carnaval is sucha great party, keep it a party and behave!
