Vacation, whaaa

I am really longing for a vacation and I actually cannot wait. Still I have not found anything that really got me excited, which means look further for me! Tomorrow Carnaval begins in the south of Holland and everybody is excited. However we are all excited tomorrow, by monday the friendly, festive atmosphere usually turns into drunk, agressive behaviour. So I will definately go out but not after sunday.

Sunday there is a parade and the youth will get on carts and drive through town. The parade starts at 13.11 and that is the time they will start drinking too, you can imagine, sunday is usually not the busiest of days in the pubs since most are hammered at 16.00.

A few years back an accident occured and a young boy fell of the cart and died. Since then it is forbidden to use any alcohol during the parade. However forbidden the participants are very clever and have several ways to still use alcohol. It is said some of them even got a producer of lemonade to put beer in lemonade cans....

Please people, carnaval is sucha great party, keep it a party and behave!

Pre-Carnaval party

The party was great! I used yesterday to regain some energy because we went all the way!

With some of Hollands' best artists it was a great party. My outfit was an original and I was happy with it.

Carnval costume

I am going to a pre-carnaval party and I should be dressed up. The problem is, I want to be more or less original. the theme is "fout" which means wrong in the sence of, big golden necklaces, glitter, glamour, over the top. I am breaking my head on what to wear and cannot come up with something..

I am going to take a look into my closet and see what I can come up with, there always is my bunny outfit (which is not original at all) or the tiger suit, both have nothing to do with the theme.......

I will keep you posted on this.

Furthermore I am still looking for my 'best-deal' holiday. Yesterday I found something I likes. After researching it I had several prices. One was for €1300 for 15 days and for the same holiday same date another site asked € 340,- This tells me the one site is overpricing A Lot and that it pays to look just a bit longer. I must say I really like doing this!

coldness

After weeks of a warm winter, now the real cold is coming. Tomorrow night it will be minus 10 degrees celcius. It is strange, a few weeks ago when it still was 10 degrees above zero, people were dressed in their wintercoats, wearing hats and scarves. I just wonder what they are wearing today? Their skiing outfits? A fleece suit with two extra coats? Lol, just wondering. Tomorrow I will be looking to see for myself!

I am longing to go out again, it has been a while. In a few weeks it is carnaval. Not at all like the tropical version. In the south they will be all dressed up, drinking and making these big cars decorates with figurines and buildings all connected by one theme. Usually there are some cars critisizing politics or events in the news. I am sure to keep you informed.. here is an impression of what I mean.
